एकाउंटिंग को हिंदी में लेखांकन कहते हैं जो दो शब्दों से मिलकर बना हुआ है
पहला लेखा दूसरा अंकन
लेखा से आशय लिखने से होता है
अंकन से आशय अंक होता है
इसलिए accounting से आशय व्यापार में होने वाली वित्तीय लेनदेन सौदों को लिखना ही लिख अंकन कहलाता है
